Safety Drills Scheduled For Arlington Public Schools on Friday

Police will visit Arlington High and Ottoson Middle School, but not for scary reasons.

If you see police officers and firefighters gathered around Arlington Public Schools on Friday, don’t worry - it’s just a drill.

Arlington Police announced on Thursday that safety drills are scheduled across Arlington Public Schools on June 12.

Specifically, drills will be conducted at 9 a.m. at Arlington High School, and 1 p.m. at Ottoson Middle School.

There’s also a 9 a.m. drill slated for Bishop Elementary School, but that one isn’t until June 17.

Police say the drill should take about two hours, and students and faculty are already aware of the situation. The schools will be closed to outside business during these times.
