Tim Ross Named Arlington's First ADA Coordinator

As the new ADA Coordinator, Ross will work to ensure accessible practices for capital projects, events, programs, and policies.

ARLINGTON, MA —Arlington’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Director Jillian Harvey announced Friday that Tim Ross has been named the town’s first ADA Coordinator.

As the new ADA Coordinator, Ross will work within the DEI department in Health & Human Services to collaborate with the Disability Commission and ensure accessible practices for capital projects, events, programs, and policies.

Among the position’s many duties, the ADA Coordinator will provide technical assistance regarding ADA compliance/accessibility initiatives and grants. The ADA Coordinator will also provide guidance to Department Heads on accessing resources to support public requests for accommodations and monitor and track ADA complaints.

“We are very excited about this new role and the opportunities it is creating to reach our ADA goals,” Harvey said in a statement. “Tim’s public facing experience with patients at Boston Children’s Hospital and project management skills made him an ideal fit for the ADA Coordinator position.”

Previously, Ross worked as a Program Coordinator for Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), managing clinic templates, advocating for transgender patients, and proposing development strategies for programs. Prior to this role, he was also a Scheduling Coordinator at BCH, where he worked with patients and staff to schedule MRIs and Radiology exams.

Ross holds a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Ross officially began his new role on September 6.
