• TEAM Recognition (gardnermagazine.com) — Athol firefighters were among several local departments honored for a dramatic ice rescue on Queen Lake, where two adults fell through the ice and were pulled out within seven minutes. Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. presented TEAM Awards to Athol Fire, Phillipston, Templeton, and regional dispatch staff for their coordination, training, and quick response that prevented a likely tragedy.
