Attleboro Man Indicted On Child Pornography Charges
The man is accused of using Snapchat to have sexually explicit conversations with minors.
ATTLEBORO, MA — An Attleboro man was indicted on child pornography charges, authorities announced Tuesday. Garry Bienvenue, 58, of Attleboro, was accused of using Snapchat to have sexually explicit video chats with minors, according to the Department of Justice.
Bienvenue was arrested March 12. He was charged with receipt and possession of child porn.
Police traced child pornography sent over Snapchat back to Bienvenue's home in Attleboro, prosecutors said. Police confiscated Bienvenue’s phone, which had child pornography videos, including one depicting the rape of a child as young as 3-5, according to the DOJ.

A receipt of child pornography charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years in prison. A possession of child pornography charge carries a maximum of ten years in prison. Each charge also provides for a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
