Attleboro Man Named Third Winner Of VaxMillions
Leo Costinos, of Attleboro, and an eighth-grade student from Reading are named the third winners in the Massachusetts COVID vaccine lottery.

ATTLEBORO, MA — After getting their COVID-19 vaccinations this year, two more lucky Massachusetts residents received life-changing news Thursday.
Gov. Charlie Baker held a press conference Thursday morning to announce the newest winners of the Massachusetts COVID-19 vaccination lottery called VaxMillions.
Leo Costinos, of Attleboro, has become the third $1 million winner of VaxMillions, while Lilla Eliet, of Reading, won this week's $300,000 scholarship to her college of choice, Gov. Baker said.

Costinos, who is a controller at a financial firm, told Massachusetts Lottery officials he wanted to get vaccinated to protect himself, his family, and his community. With the $1 million winnings, he says he plans to help pay for his children's college expenses.
Eliet is entering the eighth grade at Coolidge Middle School in Reading. Baker's office said she got the vaccine as soon as she was eligible so she could protect herself and others and is interested in pursuing a career in medicine.

Darrell Washington of Weymouth won the first $1 million prize, while 15-year-old Chelsea High School student Daniela Maldonado won the first scholarship two weeks ago.
Donna McNulty of Billerica won the second $1 million prize, and Dylan Barron of Norwood took home the second scholarship last week.
Massachusetts created the lottery to efforts to encourage more people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
More drawings will be held the next two Mondays and the winners will be announced on the following Thursday.
Winners have 24 hours to respond when the Department of Public Health reaches out, and if the winner does not respond, they will forfeit the prize and a new winner will be chosen.
