Attleboro Stadium Renovation Project Fully Funded
Thanks to large donations from the NFL and Balfour, Attleboro reached its funding goal for the Tozier-Cassidy Field renovation project.

The quest to fully fund the reconstruction of Tozier-Cassidy field is over.
Large donations made by the NFL Grassroots Foundation and the LG Balfour Foundation last week covered $500,000 of the $600,000 worth of fundraising needed for the project.
The remaining $100,000 was donated by a slew of local businesses and individuals.
"Achieving this goal is a testament to how a community can rally behind its school," Attleboro High School Principal Bill Runey told Patch. "We try at AHS to be the flagship of the district, and all of the donations, regardless of how much, have been important to our success."
Runey said the NFL donated $200,000 and LG Balfour Foundation donated $300,000 in a "matching grant."
According to NFLFoundation.org, it's grassroots grant "provides non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations and middle/high schools with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of football fields in under-served areas of NFL markets."
The field project is expected to be completed by September in time for the first football game. Earlier this year, the Attleboro City Council voted to appropriate $3,550,000 of the $4,150,000 projected cost.
