Blue Bombardiers Dedicate Tozier-Cassidy Field With Dominant Win Over Dartmouth

The Blue Bombardiers may have been playing on new home turf Friday night, but they didn't take long to settle in.

On the night the new Tozier-Cassidy Field was dedicated, Attleboro beat Dartmouth 41-12.

"We’ve said this all year – this is our obligation to give back to the community," coach Mike Strachan. "They’ve built us a great place for years to come. It really is something that the team has taken to that we feel we’re obligated to work hard in our practice and in our games. Those are the results that showed from that tonight."

Once again, the Blue Bombardiers were led by quarterback Tim Walsh who threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Walsh's three touchdowns were to three different receivers: Luke Morrison, Tom Burns and Brenden Massey. Receiver Brandon Clark also had a big game for Big Blue.

"We put [Walsh] in a scheme where he can succeed," Strachan said. "He’s got some kids that are making plays around him. I think they’re building confidence right now. We emphasize the little things in practice and they’re starting to get it."

Despite such a dominant night for the Blue Bombardier offense, Attleboro only led 13-6 heading into halftime. The third quarter, however, saw an opening drive with Walsh hitting Massey on a 46-yard touchdown throw and a 20-yard touchdown run from senior runningback David Duquette, who steamrolled a few Dartmouth defenders on his way to the endzone.

After Walsh ran the ball into the endzone to begin the fourth quarter and Duquette followed with his second touchdown of the game, there was no catching up for the Indians.

Dartmouth's second quarter touchdown came from runningback Chris Martin from the four-yard line with 1:05 left in the half. Indians quarterback Matt Beauparland added six more points for Dartmouth in the fourth quarter with a 19-yard keeper.

Now 2-0, the Blue Bombardiers will take on the Hockomock League next week when the Franklin Panthers come to town.

"There’s no easy week for us so we’re onto Franklin and hopefully we can build off of what we started here," Strachan said.
