The vehicle of a suspected drunk driver struck a Seekonk ambulance in Providence early Friday morning, <a href="http://news.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/2012/07/seekonk-firefig.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to the Providence Journal</a>. The ambulance was transporting a patient to Rhode Island Hospital. The ambulance driver and another Seekonk firefighter were injured. The Journal reported: <blockquote> The Providence Fire Department was called to transport the patient and the two Seekonk firefighters, [Seekonk Fire Chief Alan] Jack said. Both firefighters have been placed on injured leave, Jack said. He said the ambulance's cabin was extensively damaged. </blockquote> The unidentified driver of the vehicle that allegedly struck the ambulance at 12:49 a.m. was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving, according to the Journal.
