There is a possibility of "strong to severe" thunderstorms Monday night in the Attleboro area, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service issued a "hazardous weather warning" stating that there may be a possibility of localized flooding, which is always an issue in the low-lying Attleboro-Seekonk area.
The thunderstorms could be a result of the excessive humidity in the area.
"In fact, much of this week will still offer oppressive levels of humidity and that humidity combining with a weakening cool front will lead to a daily round of scattered showers & t-storms," wrote WHDH's Jeremy Reiner in his weather blog. "If this is your vacation week it will be good with only 1 day, Thursday, possibly earning that dubious distinction of "washout". The other days will just see that classic moniker of "scattered PM storms"--where much of the day is dry as are many towns but a few storms will pop up through the afternoon heat."
