North Attleboro Hit-And-Run Victim Dies, Suspect Arrested
The 31-year-old suspected hit-and-run driver was arrested in Rhode Island, according to news reports.
NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA — A man who was struck by a vehicle and left for dead in North Attleboro on Sunday has died, several media outlets report.
In a news release, North Attleboro police said a man and woman were struck at 1:36 p.m. in the area of 107 Adamsdale Road by a heavy-duty work truck. The woman was treated at a hospital and released.
Police on Tuesday announced the victim, 62-year-old Paul Re, had died from his injuries, according to CBS Boston. Re's family told the news outlet that the man had suffered a broken pelvis and broken vertebrae in the incident.

According to the report, 31-year-old Pawtucket, Rhode Island, resident Thomas Roy was arrested in connection to the crash and his 2015 GMC Sierra truck was taken as evidence.
Last week, North Attleboro Police Department shared a reminder on its Facebook page that vehicles are required to stop and allow pedestrians to cross at sidewalks.

"Additionally, vehicles must stop if the pedestrian is within 10 feet of that half of the road. Vehicles must not pass other vehicles that are yielding to a crossing pedestrian," the post read. "Stay safe everyone!"
