Park Street Pizza a Product of Patience
Co-owner Chris Pennisi shares the restaurant's story.

Chris Pennisi and Paul Albrecht opened Park Street Pizza four years ago, and Pennisi said it was a childhood dream come true.
"My buddy and I worked in pizza shops when we were younger and we decided to open our own," Pennisi said.
They worked at the Sharon House of Pizza for years as children. Pennisi moved on to work in other fields, but Albrecht stayed to learn the trade.

"He moved to a new place they opened up across the street," Pennisi said. "It was the same owners, but a more upscale pizza place, like a step up from a typical sub shop. He stayed there for 15 years managing the place."
Pennisi said Albrecht's persistence helped get them off the ground.

"He just kept asking, 'When are we going to start our own place?'" he said.
Pennisi said he and Albrecht wanted to open their own shop for years, but they couldn't get themselves together.
Then they saw the location on Park Street.
"I moved to Attleboro and would just drive by this place," he said. "It was empty all the time, and I thought it was an excellent location, so we decided to go for it."
Pennisi said they moved in and started making pizza and subs. He said the most important part of cooking for him is the ingredients.
"Frozen food just doesn't taste as good as fresh," he said.
He said advertising is done largely through word of mouth, but campaigning doesn't hurt either.
"We used to do a lot of ads, but the thing that worked the best was direct mailing our menus to people's houses," he said. "My old boss had a theory that you always want to be the guy on top of the pile. When you open up the drawer, they put your menu right on the top."
Pennisi said the shop sponsors youth sports, donates to the local DARE program in Attleboro and the Jimmy Fund.
Park Street Pizza is located at 104 Park St. and is open Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
