Severe Weather Hits Attleboro, Seekonk
Heavy rain along with thunder and lighting comes to the area. No major damage is reported.

Attleboro and Seekonk were not spared in Friday's stormy weather that affected several states in New England. Strong rain accompanied by thunder and lightning pounded the area from the afternoon into the evening. There was some flooding, but no major damage was reported.
For several hours, the area was under a tornado watch. Luckily, the watch never turned into a reality.
Lightning struck and uprooted a tree located behind a home in nearby Foxborough. The resident of the home, an elderly woman, was sent to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Go to read more about that story.

More heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely for Saturday, mainly after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. There is a 70 percent chance of daytime storms and a 50 percent chance of more precipitation at night.
Of course, this does not mean you shouldn't take advantage of warm weather (the summer days are numbered) because it is not expected to rain the entire day. The NWS' forecast calls for a daytime high of 83.
