Our Keynote Speaker-Author, Jay Jennings, is a "freelance writer whose journalism, book reviews and humor have appeared in many national magazines and newspapers", including the New York Times, Runner's World, Oxford American, Lowbrow Reader, and Travel & Leisure. He is a regular contributor to the NYT Book Review and San Francisco Chronicle as well as chair of the Arkansas Literary Festival. His editing of the book, "Escape Velocity: a Charles Portis Miscellany" brings his Arkansas background into play as he shares the work of another Arkansas native, Charles Portis, through Portis' non-fiction, short stories, memoir, and a play. Local columnist, Kathy Hickman will lead the follow up question/discussion session with the author. Sponsored and introduced by former Mayor, Judy Robbins.
