Back Bay Streets Closed Thursday Night Due to Road Race

JP Morgan Corporate Challenge is running Thursday night in the area.

The City of Boston announced that several streets around Back Bay will be temporarily closed Thursday night due to the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge race that will make a loop around the area.

According to the city, streets along the race route will be closed from approximately 6:45 p.m. to 8:10 p.m.

The city has estimated that 12,000 races from 600 different greater Boston companies will gather at the Boston Common along Charles Street. From there the race route is as follows:

Beacon Street, left onto Arlington Street, right onto Commonwealth Avenue (outbound), to Kenmore Square, turn around after the MBTA bus way, to Commonwealth Avenue (inbound), under the Massachusetts Avenue overpass, continuing on Commonwealth Avenue, right onto Arlington Street, left onto Boylston Street, left onto Charles Street.

Beacon Street – South side from Charles Street to opposite #71, North side westerly from Charles Street to River Street and North side from Charles Street to a point 85’ easterly

Boylston Street– South side from Charles Street toTremont Street

Charles Street – West side from Park Plaza to Boylston Street, West side from Boylston Street to Beacon Street, West side from Beacon Street to Chestnut Street and East side from Beacon Street to Branch Street

Commonwealth Avenue– North side, North roadway, from Arlington Street to approximately 100’ westerly ending at #3
