Boston Landmarks Orchestra: Free Concert at Hatch Shell

Experience some culture with some of the city's best musicians on Aug. 22.

A new tradition from the Boston Landmarks Orchestra is to feature it's own musicians as soloists, and it kicks off with the free concert Landmarks Virtuosos on Aug 22 from 7-9 p.m. at the Hatch Shell.

Performances include: Schumann’s Conzerstück, a one-of-a-kind virtuosic thrill-ride for four solo horns and orchestra, and Haydn’s Sinfonia concertante which combines virtuosity, lyricism and elegance of expression. Mendelssohn’s exuberant ‘Italian’ symphony is a musical memento of his tour to Italy and an orchestral tour-de-force.

Soloists for Conzerstuck:
Kevin Owen, horn
Richard Menaul, horn
Whitacre Hill, horn
Lee Wadenpfuhl, horn

Soloists for Sinfonia concertante:
Gregory Vitale, violin
Andrew Price, oboe
Jolene Kessler, cello
Donald Bravo, bassoon
