Boston Man Charged with Shoplifting, Heroin Possession

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate a conviction.

Boston Police Officers were called to the Lord and Taylor at 760 Boylston Street at 12:30 p.m. on February 22 for a shoplifter who had been detained by the store security.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with two store employees, who reportedly witnessed the suspect taking bottles of cologne and perfume and placing them in his pockets.

Officers reportedly recognized the suspect from past incidents. Officers arrested Gregory Gales of 10 Cawfield Street, Boston, and charged him with larceny of $250 or more. The suspect reportedly had four bottles of Lord and Taylor Fragrances and two bottles of BVLARGI fragrances.

While booking the suspect, the officers found a two more bottles of BVLARGI fragrances and a bag tied in a knot. The bag contained a brown powder believed to be heroin. 

Gales was charged with larceny, $250 or more and possession of a Class A substance.
