Brighton Man Dies in Storrow Motorcycle Crash

Suffolk District Attorney said it was a single-vehicle accident near the Bowker Overpass Wednesday.

Authorities are investigating a Wednesday motorcycle crash on Storrow Drive in Back Bay that claimed the life of a 35-year-old Brighton man.

According to a release from the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, the single-vehicle accident took place on Storrow eastbound near the Bowker Overpass at about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.

The initial investigation indicated the man lost control of the motorcycle, hit a curb and then a pole. Authorities said he was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

The Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit, Massachusetts State Police Troop H investigators, the Crime Scene Services Section and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are investigating the crash.

The DA's office made note of the recent fatal Storrow Drive motorcycle crash further east last month. That crash killed a 44-year-old Wakefield man near the Longfellow Bridge. The investigation into that crash remains open.
