See High Price Tag For Back Bay Parking Spot

Boston.com reported Wednesday will see a new auction for a space on Marlborough Street.

UPDATE, 5 p.m.: The Boston Business Journal reported the Marlborough Street parking space auctioned Wednesday was sold for $125,000.

Despite the high price, that is a relative bargain compared to the prices other spaces have gone for of late.

A new Back Bay parking spot is set to go on the auctioneer's block Wednesday, and its price could go for a new record.

Boston.com reported a space linked to condominiums at 349 Marlborough St. will go to auction Wednesday at 1 p.m. It's accessible from Gloucester and Hereford Streets and auctioneer Paul E. Saperstein Co. posted more information on the space online here.

A deposit of $15,000 is required from the successful bidder in cash or a bank check with full payment required in 30 days.

Back in June, a record was set for tandem spots when two spaces behind 298 Commonwealth Ave. went for a hefty $560,000.

The record for one parking space in Boston is $300,000 for one at 48 Commonwealth Ave. in 2009. The Globe reported a single spot went for $250,000 on Marlborough Street last December.
