Ducklings Day Parade Attracts Hundreds

The annual parade is held on Mother's Day honoring the famed children's story "Make Way For Ducklings."

CBS Boston reported that over 1,000 children turned out to the Boston Public Garden Sunday for the annual Ducklings Day Parade.

The annual event is held on Mother's Day and is a celebration of the children's story "Make Way For Ducklings" by Robert McCloskey, which is commemorated by the series of statues in the park near the corner of Beacon and Charles Streets.

According to CBS Boston, Mayor Tom Menino was among the officials present Sunday. The news station reported actors from the Wheelock Family Theater performed readings from "Make Way For Ducklings."
