Tonight, the Boston Ward 5 Democratic Committee welcomes the five candidates running in the state senate special election primary for the 2nd Suffolk and Middlesex district. The meeting is scheduled for this TUESDAY, November 15, at 7 p.m. at the First Church in Boston, at the corner of Marlborough and Berkeley Streets in the Back Bay (66 Marlborough Street).
The 2nd Suffolk and Middlesex state senate seat is currently vacant, and the Mass. Secretary of State has set a special primary election for Tuesday, December 13. Five democrats are running for the seat, and they are expected Tuesday at the committee meeting: State Rep. William Brownsberger, State Rep. Jonathan Hecht, Sheila Lawn, Robert McCarthy and Timothy Schofield. The committee will consider endorsements in this race during the Tuesday meeting.
