The first concert in the series will take place on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 3pm with the celebration of the reinstallation of one of Trinity Church’s crowning glories and one of the finest stained glass windows in the world, artist John La Farge’s Christ Preaching window. The Music For All Concert Series is sponsored by the Trinity Boston Preservation Trust.  The Celebrating Light concert will feature the renowned Trinity choirs along with an 8-piece brass ensemble and organ in a program featuring:

  • The Cantate Domino motet for double chorus of women’s voices by the 16th century nun SulpitiaCesis;
  • The East Coast premiere of Richard Webster’s He is the Way.For this singular performance, choirs and instruments will make use of the north, south and west galleries, the apse, choir stalls, and the nave in the grand Venetian polychoral tradition.

“We are thrilled that this stunning window has returned to the church.  What’s more, we are delighted to be able to share it and our concert celebration with the greater Boston community.  We invite everyone to come experience the window and the joyous concert,” said Richard Webster, Director of Music and Organist at Trinity Church.
