Five Things to Know Today: Thu, Feb 10

Cute dog photos, charity date auction, its not too late to run the Boston Marathon, finding a good babysitter, Borders celebrates Silverlicious release.

Cute photos of puppies? You know you can't resist. Go see Amy Hawkes art opening of Arf!, a photo exhibit of dogs well, being dogs. Her images will be on display at The Fish and Bone, and the reception is from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Dogs welcome (but please leash your humans).

Put yourself out there, and on stage, with a date auction as part of a Boston Marathon fundraiser to raise  money for Miles for Miracles at Children's Hospital Boston. Activities and hot spots include: tickets to the Bruins, Celtics or Red Sox; and dinner at Stella, Lucca, and 28 Degrees -- just to name a few. The fun begins at 35 Stanhope Street, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Suggested donation of $10. For more info, contact runner Jenn Welch at jenn_welch@hotmail.com, 781.771.5038.

It's not too late to run the Boston Marathon yourself. If you were one of the many that were unable to obtain a Boston Marathon number when registration filled up in record breaking time back in October, the Boston Living Center still has a few slots left. Visit their website to submit your application.
