Hubway Reaches 100,000 Rides

Five things to know on Thu, May 31.

1. Weather: It should be a beatiful day today with sun and a high near 75. The evening will be mostly clear, with a low around 58.

2. The Hubway reached it's quarter millionth ride on Tuesday, with more than 100,000 trips taken since the bike share system reopened on March 15.

“This is an exciting milestone," said Marc Draisen, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council. “Hubway riders are helping to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution, while limiting climate change and improving public health.”

Rides average ride of just under 21 minutes, and the system is expanding to more than 100 stations across Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline by the end of the summer.

3. The Trust for Public Land rated Boston third in the nation for access to public parks. San Francisco got first place, with Sacramento taking second. Boston tied with New York City for third.
