Police: Attempted Robbery at a Pea in the Pod

A man walked into the maternity clothing store on Newbury with trash bags covering his face and body, and demanded money from two female employees who were cleaning up.

As two employees were cleaning up for the night at the trendy maternity clothing store on 10 Newbury St. on Saturday, at 7:04 p.m. a man with a brown bandana on his head and trash bags covering his face and body walked in and demanded money, according to the police report.

The man kept his right hand under the trash bags, making the female workers feel as though he was armed, but when he demanded money they told him he would be going to jail and that the police had been called.

"At that point the suspect removed the bag from his face and stated 'Would a robber show you his face?'" the report says. He then ran from the store in the direction of the Boston Common without taking any money or property.
