Weigh In on the Bowker Overpass Tonight
Discuss the future of the turnpike ramps from 6-8 p.m. at the Boston Public Library.
Should the Bowker Overpass be rebuilt? Or removed permanently - a move that the Friends of the Charlesgate say would restore parkland to the Charlesgate, establish pedestrian routes to the , and restablish the continuity of the l to Kenmore Square.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will discuss the issue and possibly make a decision tonight, from 6-8 p.m. at the Boston Public Library.
Both Rep. Marty Walz and City Councilor Mike Ross support the decision to remove the overpass. Representives from Mass DOT, the Boston City Transportation Department, the BRA, the Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, and the Muddy River Restoration Project will all be at the meeting.
