Thanksgiving is observed on Thursday, November 22. Here's a handy list of what's open - and closed - during the holiday:
- Retail stores: Closed.
- Supermarkets, liquor stores: Closed.
- Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion.
- Gyms: Closed or reduced hours.
- Bars and restaurants: Open at owner's discretion.
- Stock market: Closed.
- Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed.
- Libraries and schools: Closed.
- Post office: Closed.
- MBTA: Subway, commuter rail and bus service will run on a Sunday schedule. See here for the full schedule.
- Trash/Recycling: Not affected in the Back Bay.
- Boston Parking Meters: Free.
