2 Hour Delay For Barnstable Schools, Icy Commute For Others
Tuesday's nor'easter brought snow to the area, but ice is a problem for drivers and school buses on Wednesday.
CAPE COD, MA — Tuesday's nor'easter brought over 8 inches of snow on some parts of Cape Cod, but the story on Wednesday isn't the size of the snow banks.
Ice is causing issues for at least one school district, and is a big reason for a two-hour delay in another.
Barnstable Public Schools officials announced a two-hour delay for students on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Dennis-Yarmouth district said Wednesday that busses will likely be delayed in arriving to schools due to the icy conditions.
"Due to icing conditions overnight please expect delays with school busses this morning," said Superintendent Marc Smith. "Our bus drivers had to take extra time this morning to clear the busses of ice and will be taking their time on the roads this morning to ensure students arrive at school safely."

In Falmouth, schools opened on time on Wednesday.
"A big thank you to our custodians who kept our schools shoveled and warm and to our friends at DPW who worked all day to clear the roads, sidewalks, and our school parking lots, so we could return to school tomorrow," school officials said.
