1. The town of Barnstable is introducing a new lottery system for rental housing in the area. There are six one-bedroom and six two-bedroom apartments available at the Stage Coach complex. Applications are available at the Growth Management Department on the third floor of Town Hall.

3. Hyannis town officials celebrated their $4.1 million water system upgrade yesterday. The upgrades save about $1 million now that the system does not require additional piping to dissipate chlorine in the water, the Cape Cod Times wrote.
