BARNSTABLE, MA — Officials with the Barnstable Municipal Airport have asked for public input on the development of their 20-year master plan to ensure that the airport continues to safely and efficiently meet the needs of the community.

The preparation of an airport master plan is required by the Federal Aviation Administration for Barnstable Airport to receive federal money for airport projects, airport manager Katie Servis said.

"An airport master plan is a comprehensive study of an airport that considers the needs of its airfield, local general aviation, corporate aviation and commercial aviation over the next 20 years as well as including recommendations for promoting compatible land use around the airport to maximize opportunities for non-aeronautical revenues to help support the airport's financial future," Servis said in a statement.

Officials said comments and questions can be sent to hyamasterplan@mjinc.com. Comments and questions received by Nov. 2 will be included in a response video on the airport's YouTube channel at a later date.
