Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Set for Saturday
The 14th Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the Cape Cod Baseball League is Saturday, Nov. 16.
The Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame will welcome eight new members this weekend. The Hall's 14th induction ceremony will be held at Chatham Bars Inn, 297 Shore Road, Chatham, on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Boston newscaster Scott Wahle will once again lead the even.
This year's inductees include:
- Baltimore Orioles star catcher Matt Wieters (Orleans ’06)
- Cape League single-season saves leader Ryan Speier (Bourne ’01)
- The late Merrill Doane, a longtime player, coach and administrator from Chatham
- Former league MVP Daniel Carte (Falmouth ’04)
- Former major league and Cotuit infielder Garrett Atkins
- 1970 league MVP Jim Prete (Wareham ’66-67, ’70, Bourne ’68)
- Slugging first baseman Ed Drucker (Harwich ’66)
- Undefeated southpaw pitcher Mickey O'Connor (Chatham ’76)
