Cape Cod Fire Department Drill Will Close Bridge, Heighten Activity

The multi-agency training is scheduled in Osterville this week. Here's what to know.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Locals in the Osterville area will need to avoid a bridge on Thursday as fire department activity will close it for a chunk of the day.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department will conduct a multi-agency dive training exercise at the Oyster Harbors Bridge in Osterville.

"This submerged victim recovery drill will bring together specialized Dive Team members from C-O-MM Fire, Hyannis Fire and the Barnstable County Dive Team, with marine assistance provided by the Town of Barnstable Marine and Environmental Affairs Division and Cotuit Fire Department," officials said.
