Cape Cod Ice Cream Institution Four Seas Sold

The beloved scoop shop was listed for $3 million earlier this year. Realtors involved with the sale recently announced its completion.

CENTERVILLE, MA — A beloved ice cream shop in operation since the 1930s will have new ownership moving forward.

Four Seas Ice Cream was listed for sale in February at a price of $3 million. Carey Commercial, the real estate agent for the now-previous owners, announced the completion of the sale on Wednesday.

The scoop shop is a staple in Centerville that has hosted famous guests like Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and numerous eras of the Kennedy family.

In February, the Cape Cod Times first reported the decision of owners Doug and Peggy Warren to sell the business. The Warrens had run the shop since 2000.

That story also shared that the family is weighing whether to take the biggest offer or ensure that the business could continue as it has been for so many years.

WBZ reported this week that the business was purchased by Josh and Leslie McElhattan, who told the publication that they are "trained in the operation of ice cream businesses" and are intent on continuing the legacy of Four Seas.
