Cape Cod Man Charged With Weekend Car Break-Ins
A Falmouth man faces three counts of breaking into vehicles, officials said.
HYANNIS, MA — A Cape Cod man faces charges after a home camera system spotted him rifling through three cars, police said.
On July 25, around 11:41 p.m., Barnstable police responded to 70 Elm St., in Hyannis for a call for suspicious activity.
The caller said they witnessed a man later identified as Bruno Lacerda, 41, of Falmouth, going through vehicles in the driveway at the home.

"The victim reported that her home camera system activated and alerted her to someone inside of her car," officials said.
An investigation revealed that Lacerda entered three vehicles and took approximately $80 in cash before running away from the scene.

On Sunday, around 1:36 a.m., an officer spotted Lacerda at the intersection of Main Street and Yarmouth Road in Hyannis.
He faces charges on three counts of breaking and entering into a vehicle and one count of larceny under $1200.
Lacerda was released on personal recognizance and was scheduled for arraignment Monday.
