Cape Cod Officials Continue Search For Man Last Seen On Local Beach

Officials have been searching for a man they said was last seen on a jetty at Red River Beach.

HARWICH, MA — The search for a man last seen on a Cape Cod beach on Monday continued on Tuesday morning, officials said.

In what was the second day of searching for a man said to be in his 30s or 40s who was last seen on a jetty at Red River Beach, fire officials in Harwich flew a drone along the shoreline to Allen's Harbor but found nothing.

On Monday night, Harwich Police and Fire departments said they were on the scene at the beach looking for a person who "may" have been in the water. The man was last seen wearing black pants and a black sweater with white stripes.

"A water rescue response was initiated bringing Fire Department, Police Department, the Harbormaster and the United State Coast Guard to begin the search," officials said.

A dive team was also activated for the search, starting an effort that included divers in the water around the jetty with officials searching the shoreline simultaneously.
