News release from Town of Barnstable.
HYANNIS, MA — On Monday, October 28, 2024, a contractor for the Town of Barnstable is scheduled to commence construction along Ocean Street and Gosnold Street, Hyannis, to perform roadway, sidewalk, and watermain improvements. Construction will take place on Ocean Street between the John F. Kennedy Memorial and Hawes Avenue, and on Gosnold Street between Sea Street and Ocean Street.
The project scope includes improving pedestrian access and traffic safety; updating infrastructure; constructing a new entrance drive to Kalmus Beach; and extending the existing watermain to Hawes Avenue. Most of the construction will take place in the roadway or on road shoulders, and at times temporary lane closures with an alternating traffic pattern will be required to provide an adequate and safe work zone. Barnstable Police Department will be onsite to assist motorists as needed.
