Housing Assistance to Hold Info Session for Chatham House
Three-bedroom home will be available for purchase through a lottery for qualifying applicants.

Housing Assistance invites potential homeowners to a Zoom virtual info session for a house for sale in Chatham, on Monday, November 3, at 5:30 p.m. Interested buyers can register for the info session, which will be held on Zoom, at haconcapecod.org/lotteries. The session will cover information about the house and the lottery application process.
Located at 558 Crowell Road in Chatham, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom single-family home will be sold through a lottery process for $385,000. Eligible applicants must be first-time homebuyers (with certain exceptions), with income at or below 100% AMI (area median income), and have less than $125,000 in assets. This is a rare opportunity for homeownership in Chatham for those earning between $95,700 and $158,600, depending on household size.
The deadline to apply for the lottery¸ which will determine the buyer of the property, is Monday, December 15, at 5 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held within 30 days of the application deadline. Housing Assistance is managing the lottery process on behalf of the Town of Chatham and the Chatham Affordable Housing Trust.

The property was purchased from Mira Rabin and Tom Whitman who responded to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Town in March 2024 seeking property suitable for affordable and/or attainable housing. The sellers, recognizing the dire housing situation for families who want to live in Chatham, offered the property below both assessed and fair market value, requesting that this property be permanently deed-restricted at an affordable or attainable level and sold to a family.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Rabin and Whitman Family for making this opportunity possible,” said Trustee Shareen Davis. “They paved the way for the Affordable Housing Trust to transform this property into an affordable year-round homeownership opportunity for our community – a place where a local family can truly put down roots. This collaboration embodies the spirit of Chatham – neighbors helping neighbors to ensure a vibrant, sustainable future for all.”
