Millway Beach reopened for swimming

Millway Beach has been reopened to swimmers after it was shut down on Tuesday due to high bacteria counts, the Cape Cod Times reports.

"Beaches that are susceptible to contamination are often closed to swimming after heavy rainfall that washes material laden with bacteria into the water," the Times writes.

Officials suspect the high bacterial count were due to the "super moon," which washed ashore more bird and dog feces than usual.

The beach reopened on Wednesday.
