No Charges Filed In Fatal Cape Cod Motorcycle Crash

A 28-year-old died after the motorcycle he was driving struck a pickup truck on Cape Cod.

YARMOUTH, MA — No one has been charged in Thursday's fatal Cape Cod motorcycle crash, police said.

A motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon after colliding with a pick-up truck. Shortly after 4 p.m., Yarmouth Police were dispatched to the intersection of Station Avenue and Wood Road for the crash.

Initial reports indicated this was a single-vehicle crash, and the operator had struck a mailbox. However, Officers arrived on the scene to find the 28-year-old motorcycle operator on the ground suffering from life-threatening injuries, and learned the crash also involved a pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck remained on scene.

The Yarmouth Fire Department members performed life-saving measures as officers began investigating the crash.

The initial investigation determined the pick-up truck was crossing the intersection of Wood Road when the motorcyclist, traveling South on Station Avenue at a high speed, collided with it. The motorcycle then struck a granite mailbox post.

Keean Laakso, 28, of South Yarmouth, died at the scene.
