Provincetown Brewing To Relocate, Current Space For Sale

Provincetown Brewing will relocate to the Crown & Anchor space. Management expects it will open on Memorial Day 2025.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — Provincetown Brewing Company is moving, but it'll be staying local — and true to its name.

The brewery announced a plan to take over the Crown & Anchor space on Commerical Street, noting that operations there should begin over Memorial Day this year.

Officials said the move represents a collaboration between two beloved Provincetown institutions.

It positions the brewery at a prime Commercial Street location and reimagines Crown & Anchor's dining and outdoor experiences. These two businesses have collaborated in the past, opening the PBC Tap Shack in the Crown's courtyard in the Summer of 2024 and also on events including the Washashore Music Festival, the Spread Queer Cheer Tour and PBC’s Annual Jock Strap Bike Ride.

“The Provincetown Brewing Co’s commitment to our community has always aligned with The Crown’s mission to honor, support, celebrate, and elevate LGBTQ+ tourism,” said Jonathan Hawkins, co-owner of the Crown & Anchor. “The team at The Crown and I look forward to our continued collaboration and the creative reinvigoration this partnership has brought to both businesses.”

Those who've come to love the entertainment offerings at both locations will be happy to know that, in many ways, keystone events from both will still be held.

The entertainment schedule in the restaurant and courtyard will be a collaborative effort between the two brands, officials said.

PBC’s signature events, such as the Miss Bearded Mistress Pageant, Flip Cup Tournament and trivia nights, will continue. The Crown’s popular piano bar and drag brunches will also be incorporated into the 2025 summer season schedule.

PBC will operate the restaurant and develop the "Queergarten at the Crown," a “proper” beer garden that promises to extend the brewery's welcoming, community-focused vibe and atmosphere. Expect outdoor games like shuffleboard and cornhole, along with live entertainment.

In the meantime, brewery officials will continue "limited" local distribution as they make preparations at the new space.
