Roadway, Sewer Work To Alter Traffic In Centerville
The work will require the closure of parts of two roadways. Here's what to know.

HYANNIS, MA — The beginning of a roadway and sewer project is set to alter traffic starting this week.
Beginning Friday, the Town of Barnstable’s contractor, C.C. Construction, Inc., will begin mobilizing near Mother’s Park in anticipation of planned roadway and sewer construction as part of the Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project – North Phase.

- The realignment of the intersection at Phinney’s Lane, Main Street (Centerville), and North Main Street; including the planned decommissioning of Mother’s Park Road
- Enhancements to Mother’s Park, including the addition of approximately 3,485 square feet of green space, new sidewalks, crosswalks, and enhanced handicap accessible parking
- The construction of a new sewer pump station
- Sewer construction within Phinney’s Lane, from Route 28 to Main Street (Centerville)
This work will require the closure of Phinney’s Lane, from Route 28 to Main Street (Centerville) and the closure of Main Street, from Old Stage Road to Pine Street during construction hours, as shown in the accompanying figure.
Construction will occur Monday through Friday, from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. This traffic pattern is anticipated to remain in place through May.
