Second Instance Of West Nile Virus Found On Cape Cod
Massachusetts health officials have received another positive test result from a recent mosquito sampling.
MASSACHUSETTS — State health officials have found additional mosquitoes on Cape Cod that have tested positive for West Nile virus.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) contacted Barnstable officials on Thursday to inform them that West Nile virus was detected in a sample of mosquitoes collected from Barnstable.
"The Town of Barnstable Public Health Division will continue to work closely with the MDPH and other agencies," officials said.

It's the second instance of West Nile virus in mosquitoes on Cape Cod after a sample from Falmouth in late June also came back positive.
Still, state health officials have set the risk level in both towns to "low."
