'Ten Million Steps' Author at Hyannis Library

Here are five things you need to know Friday, Nov. 8.

1. Friday will be sunny with a high near 49, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Author Joe Hurley will discuss his walking journey across the United States at the Hyannis Public Library on Friday at 1 p.m. Hurley documented his experience in "Ten Million Steps on Route 6: A Fresh Look at America and Americans from Cape Cod to California."

3. The Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its "Build Your Business" lunch at the Courtyard by Marriott  from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.

4. The First Annual Field of Honor will open Friday and continue until Tuesday, Nov. 12. The free display of American flags, presented by the AMVETS Post 333 and the Dennis Chamber of Commerce, is at Johnny Kelley Park, 168 Old Bass River Rd., Dennis.

5. The National Weather Service is forecasting a mostly sunny Saturday with a high near 47 and a partly sunny Sunday with a high around 55.
