Tree Removal Will Close Barnstable Road This Week

A recent car accident severely damaged a large pine tree at the corner of Route 28 and Lumbert Mill Road. It will be removed this week.

News release from Town of Barnstable.

HYANNIS, MA — On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works Highway Division will be removing a large pine tree at the corner of Route 28 and Lumbert Mill Road, Centerville, which sustained major damage from a recent motor vehicle accident. Due to the size of the tree and location, Lumbert Mill Road will be closed from Route 28 to Five Corners Road. Work will begin at 8:00AM and is anticipated to take the full day to complete. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through road work areas. Follow posted safety and detour signs as well as directions from onsite traffic control.
