UPDATE: Power Slowly Being Restored Across The Cape

Power seems to be slowly returning to NStar customers Saturday night after more than 25,000 lost power this evening, the Cape Cod Times reports.

According to WCOD, the power company is aware of the problem and trying to restore power to all customers as fast as possible.

As of 8:40 p.m., only 55 customers in Hyannis were without power, and 534 in the remaining areas of Barnstable. Earlier in the evening around 6:50 p.m., a total of 12,599 were without power in that area.

Currently, Edgartown as well as all towns on the Cape except Truro are still experiencing a handful of outages.

The biggest concentration of power outages is in Orleans, where 22 percent of customers are still in the dark and heat.
