AG Asked to Assess Mass. Early Voting Law's Constitutionality

The Woburn City Clerk has requested a review.

BOSTON, MA – Massachusetts' first run at early voting isn't even out the gate, but one city clerk believes he's spotted a potential pitfall, and has asked the state's attorney general to review.

State House New Service reports that Woburn City Clerk William Campbell sent a letter to AG Maura Healey and Secretary of State William Galvin last week, asking Healey to "weigh in on the law's constitutionality."

According to Campbell, the early voting system "creates two classes of voters." Healey's office has not taken action, but says the letter is under review.
