Cable Fire Causes Red Line Delays
Residual delays continue. Build some extra time into your Friday morning commute.

Boston, MA - An overnight cable fire temporarily suspended T service between Park Street and Kendall/MIT Friday morning, and delays continue, according to the Mass. Bay Transit Authority.
Due to the fire, the MBTA replaced that portion of the line with shuttle buses this morning. It impacted both directions of travel at Kendall, Charles/MGH and Park.
As of about 7 a.m., the T is running again between the three stops, but the MBTA said the entire Red Line has been affected and residual delays will continue.

Traffic - already only one-way due to construction - was also briefly rerouted from the Longellow Bridge during bussing.
As of 7:30 a.m., "moderate delays" continue, according to an MBTA rider alert message.
