Five Things: Benefit for Lupus Group with Max Lane Tonight on Beacon Hill
And more to know today, Aug. 2.

1. Benefit for Lupus Research: Max Pane of the New England Patriots will be at the 21st Amendment tonight to help raise money for the Alliance for Lupus Research. Every Thursday in August the restaurant will be holding an event for a different charity, featuring a local celebrity and a past bartender. All the tips from tonight will be donated to the Lupus research group.
2. Greenway Activity Cart: From 12 to 2 p.m., come on down to the Greenway Wharf District Parks at Milk Street and Surface Road. Play with hula hoop or build with the blocks from the activity cart for kids.
3. AmericanAncestors.org: The Boston Public Library will be hosting a lecture on AmericanAncestors.org from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. AmericanAncestors.org is the website of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. The free lecture will be give by Online Genealogist David Lambert.

4. The American Red Cross Blood Driver at the Museum of Science: The American Red Cross has an emergency need for blood and platelet donors of all blood types! The month of June saw a decrease in donations by 10 percent across the country. Come out to the MOS from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and donate. Donors will receive a free container of SunBrew Iced Tea and a free Museum Hall Pass.
5. Pleasant Day: After some early morning fog, The National Weather Service predicts a partly sunny day with a high near 89. The evening will cloud over and the temperature will drop to 69.
