Bedford Carjacking Suspect Held without Bail

BEDFORD, MA - A Quincy man has been held without bail on carjacking charges following his arrest over the weekend.
Michael Sullivan, 35, of Quincy, was arraigned Tuesday in Concord District Court on the carjacking charge.

Sullivan was quickly apprehended Saturday morning thanks to police dispatchers and officers in both Bedford and Carlisle.
Just before 10 a.m. Saturday morning, Bedford Police responded to a reported carjacking that had taken place at a gas station on North Road in Bedford. When officers arrived, they were informed that while a woman was waiting in the car for her husband, who had gone inside the gas station, the defendant allegedly entered the car telling the victim he needed to move the vehicle due to gas station rules.

Sullivan then allegedly fled the gas station with the victim in the car and was apprehended shortly thereafter by Carlisle Police.
Judge Sabita Singh ordered Sullivan to be held without bail pending a 58A dangerousness hearing. Sullivan will be back before a judge on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
