Carbon Monoxide Scare, Suspicious Man in School Parking Lot, Erratic Driver and More

BEDFORD, MA - The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Bedford Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, March 9

9:46 a.m. - Resident reports a male party with a red Saab on Crescent Avenue going onto people's porches and decks, and taking items from them. He reports the things are in plastic bags. Officer dispatched reports the homes on Crescent all have bags with new phone books in them on their porches. Information was relayed to resident.

11:27 a.m. - Beverly resident in station reporting fraud/identity theft.

12:45 p.m. - Caller reports a suspicious male party walking around the parking lot of the Lane School. The caller described the party as a white male, in his teens, and dressed in all black. Officers responded.

3:38 p.m. - Police received a call reporting the traffic signals at Great Road at South Road are flashing. DPW notified E.T. & L Corp, they reported they will notify Mass Bay Electric. Officer directed traffic until Mass Bay Electric arrived.

4:15 p.m. - Reports of an erratic operator in the area of 26 Railroad Ave, heading toward The Great Road. Reporting party described the vehicle as a light green sedan, no further description could be given. Officer dispatched reports nothing showing and the motor vehicle was gone on arrival.

6 p.m. - Caller reports a suspicious man in khakis and a red shirt in the back parking lot of 48 The Great Road, possibly. Officer dispatched searched the area with negative results. Party was gone on arrival.

6:54 p.m - Caller reports a suspicious motor vehicle in the parking lot of 4000 Avalon Drive. Officer dispatched reports the vehicle was gone on arrival.

6:58 p.m. - Police received a 911 call reporting carbon monoxide alarm activation at 6 Woodmoor Drive. Reporting party states no illness. Officers and fire dispatched, as well as requested EMS. Officials on scene report slight CO readings in the residence, the house has been vented. Company clear and returning.
