Cordes Will Not Seek Re-election

As Monday night's Selectmen meeting came to a close, Chair Catherine Cordes announced she would not seek re-election this spring. 

"I enjoyed this job," Cordes said. "I love the work I did, but it's time to move on." 

Cordes commended the Selectmen on the work they have done together, and said she is confident there will be more than enough qualified candidates willing to fill her seat.

"Bedford is a great town," Cordes said. "I am sure there will be other people who will hold this seat who will enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed it."

Cordes said she was unsure of what her role with the town would be moving forward, and has not yet decided whether she will serve on any town committees in the future. 

"We will see what happens and whether or not you will appoint me," Cordes said to her colleagues.
